City Assessor's Office
The City of Amsterdam Assessor's office is conveniently located on the first floor of City Hall. Walk-ins are always welcome, appointments can also be made, or assessment information obtained by contacting the Assessor's office.

The Assessor's Office is responsible for annually reviewing and assessing all real property at a uniform level of value. This requires the ongoing maintenance of property records, sales data, and tax maps.
The office also administers property tax exemptions and applies related real property tax law and literature. The Assessor's Office is also responsible for a wide variety of tasks related to the everyday operation of City government, including inter-departmental information sharing, property foreclosure and disposition.

Important Dates in the Assessor's Office
- Taxable Status Day: December 1, of preceding tax year
- Exemption Filing Deadline: December 1, of preceding tax year
- Tentative Roll: January 1
- Grievance Day: 3rd Tuesday in January, 3 pm to 5 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm
- Final Roll: March 1
