The City of Amsterdam offers many beautiful trails for residents and visitors to use and enjoy all throughout our community. From scenic walks along and over the river on the MVGO and Riverlink Trail to a pedestrian-friendly nature walk along the Sassafrass trail and many more!
MVGO & Riverlink Trail
Bicycle and Pedestrian friendly 1-mile loop. The MVGO leads you over the Historic Erie Canal and into Riverlink Park to walk along the Mohawk River bank for spectacular views.
Chuctanunda Creek Trail
Bicycle and Pedestrian friendly trail that includes waterfalls, bridges, and dams. Nature combined with the City's urban setting makes for a unique 8-mile loop from the Mohawk River up through the heart of the City. This mixed-use recreational and educational trail leads users along with various points of interest referencing history, geology, and ecology.
Pedestrian-friendly 1.5-mile beautiful trail loop right in the middle of the City. The trail is a flat nature path that follows the creek and along with parts of the old ACN Railroad line.
Dove Creek Trail
Pedestrian friendly.75-mile nature loop. This trail is a nice, easy wooded hike that runs along Dove Creek. This trail starts and ends at Sassafrass Park, a large, unique wooden playground with plenty to do for kids of all ages.
Veteran's Park Trail
Bicycle and pedestrian friendly trail around Veteran's Park. Enjoy some shade under the pavilion, play at the playground and enjoy the city pool while there.
Shuttleworth Park Trail
Pedestrian-friendly loop around Shuttleworth Park along the Chuctanunda Creek. Stop at the playground, have a picnic under the pavilion, or watch a baseball game after your walk.
